Before starting NOVOS, what did your lifestyle look like, and were you always health-conscious?
My journey towards a healthy lifestyle began early on, and I’ve been conscientious about it for as long as I can remember. From my teenage years, I was aware of the importance of maintaining a healthy weight, but my approach to health evolved over time. It wasn’t just about weight management; it became more about the overall quality of life that comes from eating well and staying active.
My daily routine included consistent aerobic exercisesโswimming in the summer and using an elliptical in the winter, complemented by regular stretching. My diet has always been balanced, leaning heavily on home-cooked meals because I prefer the taste and health benefits over restaurant food. This approach allowed me control over ingredients, particularly avoiding unhealthy additives like seed oils.
As I navigated through different health trends over the decades, my core belief in moderation and balance never wavered. I’ve seen dietary advice shift dramatically, from the promotion of complex carbs to high-protein diets and everything in between. Despite these changing tides, I stuck to what felt right for meโa diverse diet with all four food groups and regular, moderate exercise.
This foundation of health consciousness wasn’t just about physical well-being but extended to mental and cognitive health too. I love to learn, and I love to have my mind engaged in rigorous learning, and I find this stimulating and engaging, itโs my passion! And this became even more important as I witnessed the impact of dementia on my family. I donโt want to extend my life into my hundreds, but what I do want is the quality of my life to be good; I want my mind to be as sharp as possible.

Interestingly, integrating NOVOS into my routine didn’t necessitate any drastic changes to my already health-conscious lifestyle. Have you noticed any significant health or overall well-being changes since beginning your journey with NOVOS?
Over the years, my commitment to exercise and a healthy diet has been unwavering, so I didn’t observe any dramatic changes in my physical appearance or fitness levels. How do you define quality of life in the context of longevity, and what does an ideal life look like to you as you age?
For me, quality of life means remaining mentally sharp and living independently for as long as possible, all while experiencing a deep sense of joy in life. It’s crucial that physical ailments don’t overshadow the joy and satisfaction that life brings, even though some level of decline is inevitable as part of the natural aging process. I really believe in embracing the adventure of aging, viewing it as a rich and fulfilling chapter of life. This is inspired by my parents, who always considered their later years to be the best of their lives, despite the challenges they faced. Their ability to find happiness in every moment, regardless of their physical state, has taught me to appreciate the beauty of life at every stage. I want to maintain this positive outlook, cherish each day as a precious gift, and carry this attitude forward. Having fulfilling, wonderful longevity is a combination of what you have physically and the attitudes that you bring to life. It feels good to exercise, it feels good to eat right, it feels goodโฆ it feels responsible to take care of our bodies.

Exercise & Recovery: Amy engages in daily physical activity with a mix of aerobic exercises. She spends an hour daily on aerobic workouts, swims for an hour during summer months, and shifts to elliptical workouts in the winter.
